Overview

ledgrliv-desk.pages.dev is an impersonation phishing page built to look like Ledger's official desktop app. It ran under the title "Ledger Live Desktop — Secure crypto management" and targeted owners of Ledger hardware wallets. The misspelled "ledgrliv-desk" name is meant to pass a quick glance. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-08. The site has been offline since 2026-09-16, its content is blocked by the hosting provider, and it was still dead at the last check on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger Live pages exploit the fact that Ledger users are told to download the companion app. The victim lands on what looks like a polished download or setup page. It then either pushes a counterfeit installer or claims the wallet needs to be "restored" or "synchronized" by typing in the 24-word recovery phrase. Anyone who hands over that phrase gives the attacker full control of every account derived from the device. The funds can be emptied from anywhere, and the hardware wallet offers no protection.

Evidence

On 2026-09-18, 14 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. The vendors included alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, ESET, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Kaspersky. That is a solid cluster of established security vendors agreeing independently. Beyond PhishDestroy, the domain is on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, two lists focused on crypto threats, so wallet users of those tools are warned before the page loads.

Infrastructure

The page was published as a free Cloudflare Pages project on 2026-07-29. It sat for about six weeks before PhishDestroy flagged it. Free subdomains like this cost nothing and take minutes to create, which suits disposable phishing. Traffic was served through Cloudflare, Inc. from 188.114.96.9, geolocated to Canada. Cloudflare blocked the content within about a week of first detection.

What to do

If you typed your Ledger recovery phrase into this site, treat every account tied to it as compromised. Set up a new device or reset the current one with a freshly generated phrase, then move any remaining funds to the new addresses immediately. If you downloaded and ran an installer from it, remove it and scan the computer. Only use Ledger Live obtained from Ledger's official site, and remember that Ledger never asks for your recovery phrase. Defenders should block the domain, check DNS and proxy logs for visits since 2026-07-29, and watch for look-alike pages.dev subdomains using Ledger branding.
