PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

This page impersonates the official Ledger Live download portal under the Ledger brand. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-10-17. The site is now offline after the provider blocked it on 2026-10-18.

How the scam works

Visitors see a fake Ledger Live download page titled Ledger® Live: Download | | Getting started™ Ledger®, pushing a counterfeit installer. Victims who download and run the file risk installing malware that steals cryptocurrency wallet credentials or drains funds.

Evidence

VirusTotal flagged the domain with 19 detections from 92 engines on 2026-10-19, including vendors like Bitdefender, ESET, Fortinet, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and others. Spamhaus lists it in its DBL_PHISH category. PhishDestroy added it to its own blocklist.

Infrastructure

The site was hosted on IP 188.114.97.1 within Cloudflare’s AS13335 network in the US. The TLS certificate was issued by Google Trust Services under the identifier WE1.
