PhishDestroy's intake AI flagged kms-pico.cc on 2026-10-23 after VirusTotal reported one malicious detection among 92 engines, noting the site offers a KMSPico activator for Windows and Office. The recorded page title "KMSPico Activator For Windows 10, 11 & Office 2012-2021" confirms that claim. The domain was first seen by PhishDestroy on 2026-10-23, 19 days after its registration on 2026-10-04. An HTTP 301 redirect to the www subdomain was observed at that time.

How the scam works

Illicit activation tools such as KMSPico claim to bypass Microsoft licensing by modifying activation files or contacting unauthorized key servers. Operators typically host the tool on a website that encourages users to download and run an executable, which may be bundled with malware, adware, or unwanted programs. Victims believe they are obtaining a free legitimate product, but the downloaded file can compromise the system or steal data.

Evidence

VirusTotal scanned the domain on 2026-10-23 and recorded three detections: one malicious (Forcepoint ThreatSeeker) and two suspicious (alphaMountain.ai, Fortinet). Google Safe Browsing checked the same day and did not flag the site. External blocklists MetaMask and SEAL listed the domain, and Spamhaus DBL categorized it as phishing.
