PhishDestroy threat report
katahost.org presents itself as "KataHost.org — Free Discord Bot Hosting | Node.js & Python" and uses the Discord brand to draw in people who build or run Discord bots. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page targeting Discord users. We first flagged it on 2026-09-05, and as of 2026-10-19 the site was still online with its content live. The page title advertises a hosting service, while our classification is impersonation phishing aimed at Discord accounts.
A free bot-hosting offer is an effective lure because running a bot normally means handing over sensitive material, such as a Discord login, an authorization grant, or the bot's secret token. Discord-themed phishing of this kind collects those credentials under the cover of setup or deployment. Anyone holding a bot token can take full control of that bot and every server it sits in, and a stolen account login can be used to spread the same lure to friends and communities. The victim loses control of their Discord account, their bots, or both.
Five of 92 VirusTotal engines flag the domain as of 2026-10-19: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a modest count, but those are independent vendors that reached the same conclusion. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the spam category, and it appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tracked it too. PhishDestroy is currently the only blocklist in this set that carries it.
The domain was registered on 2026-08-23 through Fewmoretaps OU d/b/a Trustname.com, just 13 days before we detected it. That short gap is typical of sites set up to run a lure quickly. The site sits behind Cloudflare, Inc. on an address geolocated to Canada, which hides the actual origin server. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a browser padlock, which says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
If you logged into Discord through this site, change your password right away, enable or reset two-factor authentication, and review the authorized apps in your Discord settings, removing anything you don't recognize. If you pasted or uploaded a bot token, regenerate it at once in the Discord Developer Portal, since the old token gives full control of the bot. Then check your servers for unexpected permission changes or messages sent by your bot or account. Defenders and server admins should block the domain, warn their communities about free bot-hosting offers, and report the site to Discord.
