PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

iconosgroup.com.co is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself under the name "Iconos Group". The .com.co domain points to a Colombian audience, likely people who expect to deal with a business of that name. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-11. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

The page uses the "Iconos Group" name and a matching domain to look like the real thing. Visitors are then asked to act as they would with a trusted company. Impersonation pages like this typically collect account logins, personal identification, contact details or payments for services, investments or orders that never materialise. Anything typed into the site goes straight to the operators. Victims lose the money they send and face follow-up fraud using their stolen identity or credentials.

Evidence

On 2026-10-12, 14 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They included alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Chong Lua Dao, CRDF, Dr.Web, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and G-Data. These are independent vendors using their own methods, so their agreement backs the classification. The domain also appears in 35 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers have tracked it as well. It is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2024-07-11 through Hello Internet Corp 8. That is more than two years before it was caught, and an aged domain can slip past filters that distrust newly created names. The site is hosted on OVH SAS infrastructure at 54.39.17.125, located in Canada. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a padlock in the browser, but that only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about who runs the site.
