PhishDestroy threat report
hypercopytrade.org posed as a Hyperliquid copy-trading service. Its page was titled "Copy trader EchoCapital - HyperLiquid", which pitched visitors on mirroring a supposedly successful trader on the Hyperliquid derivatives platform. It targeted Hyperliquid users and traders chasing passive returns. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-05. The site went offline on 2026-09-11 and was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.
Copy-trading lures borrow the credibility of a real platform, here Hyperliquid, and attach a fictional star trader such as "EchoCapital" with impressive-looking results. The victim is told that connecting a wallet or funding an account will automatically copy that trader's positions. In schemes of this kind, the connection step asks the user to sign transactions or approvals that hand control of tokens to the operators, or the deposit goes straight to a wallet they own. Either way the money is gone, and any "profits" shown on the dashboard never existed.
Four of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain when it was checked on 2026-09-16: CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That count is low, so most security products would not have warned a visitor during the site's brief life. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers tracked it independently. PhishDestroy lists it on its blocklist.
The domain was registered on 2026-05-31 through Fewmoretaps OU, which does business as Trustname.com. It then sat for roughly three months before the impersonation page was detected, a gap that suggests the domain was prepared in advance rather than used on impulse. It was hosted on the HZ Hosting Ltd network in the Netherlands and served a free Let's Encrypt certificate. The padlock in the browser therefore said nothing about whether the site was legitimate.
If you connected a wallet to this site, use a token-approval checker to revoke any permissions you granted. Then move remaining funds to a fresh wallet whose seed phrase has never been entered anywhere. If you sent a deposit to "copy" EchoCapital, do not pay any follow-up fee promised to unlock withdrawals; record the transaction hashes and report them to Hyperliquid and your local cybercrime unit. Reach Hyperliquid only through addresses you have verified yourself, never through copy-trading links shared in chats or ads. Defenders should block the domain and watch for lookalike Hyperliquid copy-trading domains registered through the same channels.
