PhishDestroy threat report
gtradeapp2.com is a fake crypto exchange that presented itself as "gtradeapp2 | AI Trading Platform | Official Website", aimed at people looking for automated crypto trading returns. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-12. The site has been offline since 2026-09-19, and its domain no longer resolved when last checked on 2026-10-19.
Fake trading platforms like this one invite visitors to open an account and deposit cryptocurrency, promising that an AI engine will trade on their behalf for steady gains. The dashboard then shows fabricated profits to encourage larger deposits. When a victim tries to withdraw, the operators invent fees, taxes or verification charges, or simply block the account. The deposited funds go straight to wallets the scammers control, and any extra fee paid to unlock a withdrawal is lost too.
On 2026-09-14, VirusTotal showed 16 of 89 security engines flagging the domain. The flagging vendors included alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, CyRadar, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and G-Data. The domain is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist and appears in one AlienVault OTX threat pulse.
The domain was registered on 2026-07-12 through MainReg Inc., two months before PhishDestroy detected it. It resolved to an address on the Cloudflare, Inc. network, geolocated to Canada, which sits in front of the real origin server. The site used a TLS certificate issued by Google Trust Services (WE1), so the padlock in the browser said nothing about its legitimacy.
If you deposited funds on gtradeapp2.com, do not pay any fee or tax demanded to release a withdrawal, because that money will also be lost. Save transaction hashes, wallet addresses, chat logs and screenshots, then report the theft to your local police or cybercrime unit and to the exchange you sent funds from. Change any password you reused on the site and watch out for "recovery services" offering to get your money back, a common follow-up scam. Defenders should block the domain and look for lookalike gtradeapp variants registered by the same operators.
