PhishDestroy threat report
eternlwallet.com is a phishing site that impersonates Eternl, a popular Cardano wallet. It targets people holding ADA, Cardano NFTs or using Cardano dApps who search for the wallet and land on a lookalike domain. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-26. As of 2026-10-19 the domain was still live and redirecting visitors, so it remains a working entry point.
The page presents itself as "Eternl Wallet | Secure Cardano Wallet for ADA, NFTs & dApps", which copies the real product's pitch closely enough to pass a quick glance. Fake wallet sites like this typically push visitors to "restore" or "sync" a wallet by typing their recovery phrase, or to install a tampered app or extension. Anyone who hands over a seed phrase gives the attacker full control of the wallet. The ADA, tokens and NFTs can then be moved out without further interaction. The redirect lets operators rotate the final landing page while keeping this trusted-looking name in front of victims.
Six of 91 engines on VirusTotal flagged the domain when it was checked on 2026-09-30: alphaMountain.ai, Chong Lua Dao, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That count is modest, so many browsers and security tools will not yet warn on it. The wallet-security community has been quicker. Besides PhishDestroy, the domain sits on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists. It also appears in eight AlienVault OTX threat pulses, showing that several independent researchers have tracked it.
The domain was registered on 2026-03-30 through Tucows, almost six months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests a name held in reserve or run quietly before wider exposure. The site is served from Amazon infrastructure in the United States. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the address bar says nothing about whether the site is genuine.
If you typed your Eternl recovery phrase on this site, treat that wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet with a fresh seed on a trusted device and move any remaining ADA and NFTs there right away. If you installed software from it, uninstall it, scan the device, and get Eternl again only from its official sources. If you connected a wallet or signed anything, review and revoke dApp permissions and watch for unexpected transfers. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and warn Cardano-focused communities about this lookalike name.
