PhishDestroy threat report
equinoxxmint.com is an impersonation phishing page whose name suggests a mint page for a project called Equinox, aimed at people expecting to claim or buy tokens or NFTs with a browser wallet. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-15. The site went offline on 2026-09-22, and as of 2026-10-19 its DNS no longer resolves. The page title read "Bot Verification", which suggests a captcha-style gate rather than a branded mint page, while our classification is impersonation phishing.
Fake mint sites copy the look and language of a real project launch and push visitors to connect a wallet and approve a mint or claim. The "Bot Verification" title fits a common opening step: an interstitial that looks like a routine human check and makes the next prompt feel legitimate. In this kind of scheme, the wallet prompt that follows is not a mint at all. It is a signature or token approval that lets the operator move the victim's assets, and those losses are typically irreversible.
Wallet-focused defenders reached the same conclusion: MetaMask and SEAL both list the domain alongside PhishDestroy. Google Safe Browsing marks it as social engineering, and Spamhaus carries it in its DBL as phishing. On VirusTotal, 10 of 89 engines flagged it on 2026-09-15, including alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Chong Lua Dao, CyRadar, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft and Lionic. The domain also appears in three AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so it has been tracked by multiple research feeds.
The domain was registered on 2025-03-23 through Global Domain Group LLC, roughly eighteen months before it surfaced as phishing. That long gap points to a name that was either held in reserve or repurposed rather than spun up the week of the campaign. It was hosted on the FranTech Solutions network in the United States, behind a free Let's Encrypt certificate that gave it the padlock visitors tend to trust.
If you connected a wallet or signed anything on this site, use a token approval checker to review your approvals and revoke any you do not recognize. If assets are exposed, move what remains to a fresh wallet. Never enter a seed phrase on any mint or verification page; if you did, treat that wallet as compromised and abandon it. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, hunt logs for visits around 2026-09-15 to 2026-09-22, and watch for lookalike Equinox mint domains that the same operator may register next.
