Overview

cryptoequitra.com is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as "OnchainCrypto - Trading, for everyone," a retail crypto trading service. It targets people looking for an easy place to buy and trade crypto. The domain name has no visible link to the OnchainCrypto branding it displays. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-11, and the site was still online and serving its content on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Impersonation sites like this copy the look and promises of a trading platform so visitors trust it enough to register, log in and fund an account. The "Trading, for everyone" pitch aims at newcomers, who are less likely to check that the brand is real. Victims typically lose whatever they deposit, along with the email and password they enter. Fake trading fronts often show growing balances and then demand extra "fees" or "taxes" before any withdrawal, which pulls more money from the victim.

Evidence

On 2026-10-12, 10 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They include Kaspersky, BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. Spamhaus lists it in its domain blocklist under the phishing category. MetaMask and SEAL block it alongside PhishDestroy, so the wallet-focused security community has reached the same verdict. Five AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-07-11 through Realtime Register B.V., exactly three months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests it was set up in advance rather than launched on the spot. The site runs on Amazon infrastructure in Sweden and uses a certificate issued by Amazon. The padlock comes with the hosting platform and says nothing about whether the operator is legitimate.

What to do

Do not deposit anything further, and refuse any "fee" or "tax" requested to unlock a withdrawal. Paying it will not release funds. If you created an account, change that password everywhere you reused it and turn on two-factor authentication for your email and real exchange accounts. Report any transfers to your bank or the exchange you sent them from right away, and keep screenshots and transaction records. Security teams should block cryptoequitra.com at DNS and proxy level and watch for other domains reusing the OnchainCrypto branding.
