PhishDestroy threat report
cavodex.com is an impersonation phishing site aimed at crypto users. Its exchange-style name is meant to pass as a real trading service. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-23. As of 2026-10-19 the domain is still online and actively redirecting visitors.
Impersonation pages copy the look and wording of a service the victim already trusts. Whatever the victim types in goes to the operators, whether that is a login, a one-time code, a recovery phrase or a deposit. The danger is that the victim believes they are using the real service, so stolen credentials can be used to empty genuine accounts, and the money is usually gone for good. At our last check the page showed only "301 Moved Permanently", a redirect notice rather than a branded login screen, while our classification is impersonation phishing. Visitors are passed on to another destination instead of seeing content on this domain directly.
On 2026-10-07, 6 of 92 VirusTotal engines marked the domain as malicious or phishing: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That is a minority of engines, but the six are independent vendors that reached the same verdict. The domain also appears in 3 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tracked it as well. PhishDestroy lists it on our own blocklist.
The domain was registered on 2026-08-28 through Fewmoretaps OU d/b/a Trustname.com, 26 days before we detected it. Short-lived, freshly bought domains like this are typical of phishing runs that rotate addresses quickly. Traffic goes through Cloudflare, Inc., with the serving address located in Canada, which hides the actual origin server. The site uses a Google Trust Services certificate, so the browser padlock only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the site is honest.
If you entered a username, password or 2FA code on cavodex.com, change that password right away on the real service and anywhere you reused it. Then reset your two-factor authentication and review recent logins and withdrawals. If you typed a wallet recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and move any remaining assets to a new wallet created with a fresh phrase. Report any losses to the genuine platform's support team and to local authorities. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, look for past connections to it in their logs, and warn users that redirect-only pages can still lead to phishing content.
