PhishDestroy threat report
bitcoin-traderai.com is a fake crypto exchange that presents itself as an AI-powered Bitcoin trading platform. It targets retail investors who are drawn in by claims of effortless, automated returns on cryptocurrency. PhishDestroy first saw the site on 2026-09-12. It went offline on 2026-09-19 and was still dead and unreachable when checked on 2026-10-19.
The page title, "bitcoin-traderai | AI Trading Platform | Official Website", follows a familiar pattern for AI trading schemes, which use Bitcoin's name and the language of an official platform to look credible. Victims are typically asked to register and make a first deposit, often with encouragement from a personal "account manager". A dashboard then shows fabricated profits to prompt larger deposits. When the victim tries to withdraw, they face invented fees, taxes or verification charges, and the money is never returned. Victims lose every deposit, and any personal or identity documents they submitted can be reused in follow-up recovery scams.
On 2026-09-12, 16 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. The vendors flagging it included alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Chong Lua Dao, CyRadar, ESET, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and G-Data. The domain is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist and appears in one AlienVault OTX pulse.
The domain was registered on 2025-10-08 through MainReg Inc., nearly a year before it was detected. It was hosted at 185.62.57.222 on the Snel.com B.V. network in the Netherlands. Its TLS certificate was issued by ZeroSSL GmbH under the ZeroSSL ECC DV SSL CA 2 authority. That is a domain-validated certificate, which confirms only control of the domain and says nothing about who runs the site.
If you deposited funds, stop all payments right away and ignore any request for withdrawal fees. Report the transfers to your bank, card issuer or the exchange you sent crypto from, and file a report with your national fraud or cybercrime authority. If you reused your password on this site, change it everywhere you used it. If you uploaded ID documents, watch for identity misuse. Be wary of anyone who later offers to recover your funds for an upfront fee, because that is a common second scam. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP, and add the site's branding and page-title pattern to their detection rules for similar AI trading lures.
