PhishDestroy threat report
apexmarketexchange.com presents itself as "Apexmarketexchange," a CFD trading platform offering stocks, gold, oil and indices. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page aimed at retail investors looking for an online broker. We first flagged it on 2026-09-14. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online, with its content reachable behind access protection.
The page title promises CFD trading on stocks, gold, oil and indices, which lends the site the look of a regulated broker. Schemes of this type usually ask visitors to open an account and deposit funds, often encouraged by a contact who presents as an account manager. A dashboard then shows rising balances and profitable trades. When the victim tries to withdraw, new charges appear, described as taxes, verification costs or "withdrawal fees," and the money is never released. Victims lose every deposit and fee they pay, and they also hand over identity documents and payment details.
On 2026-09-24, VirusTotal showed 7 of 89 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, Netcraft, SOCRadar and Bfore.Ai PreCrime. That count is modest, but the vendors include established phishing feeds alongside predictive scoring. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and matched it to its generic scam pattern. Four AlienVault OTX pulses reference the domain, so other analysts are tracking it as well.
The domain was registered on 2026-04-09 through Hosting Concepts B.V. d/b/a Registrar.eu, about five months before we detected it. That gap suggests the site was either prepared well in advance or operated quietly before it was reported. It is hosted on the Aquiryn LLC network in the United States and uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate. The padlock in the browser therefore only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about whether the broker is genuine.
Do not deposit money, and never pay a fee to unlock a withdrawal, because further payments only add to the loss. If you already paid, contact your bank or card issuer right away to dispute the charges, keep all receipts and chat logs, and report the case to your national financial regulator or police. If you uploaded ID documents, watch for identity misuse and treat follow-up "recovery" offers as a second scam. Change any password you reused on the site. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting address, and check mail and proxy logs for users who visited it.
