How the scam works
Brand-impersonation pages like this one copy the look of a familiar provider's sign-in or billing screen so the visitor trusts it. Victims usually arrive through a link in an email or text about an account problem, a pending bill or a mailbox warning. Anything typed into the page, such as a Spectrum username and password, email credentials, or card and personal details, goes straight to the operators. They can then take over the account, read the mailbox, reset other passwords tied to it, or commit payment fraud. The page title reads "exchange2018.es | 521: Web server is down", a server error tied to an unrelated name, while scanners classify the live content as Spectrum impersonation.
Evidence
Nine of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-03, including alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Google Safe Browsing, Gridinsoft, MalwareURL and SOCRadar. Most engines are silent, but the vendors that flag it agree on the threat type. Google Safe Browsing lists the site under SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, so browsers that use it will show a deceptive-site warning. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified Spectrum as the imitated brand. The domain appears in five AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through TUCOWS.COM, CO. on 2025-10-24, almost a year before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests an aged domain, which can get past filters that distrust newly created names. It resolves to 129.121.43.37 on Oracle Corporation's network in Brazil. A Let's Encrypt certificate gives it the padlock icon, which does not mean the site is genuine.
What to do
If you entered a Spectrum or email password here, change it right away from Spectrum's official app or a bookmarked address. Change it anywhere else you used the same password, and turn on two-step verification. Check your mailbox for forwarding rules or recovery settings you did not create, and review recent account activity. If you entered card details, contact your bank to block the card and dispute any unfamiliar charges. Defenders should block the domain and its IP and search mail logs for messages linking to it. Spectrum-themed phishing reports should go to the provider's abuse team.
