PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

usdc016.com is an impersonation phishing page. Its domain is built around the USDC stablecoin name plus a number, the kind of address meant to look like an official or promotional USDC service to people holding or seeking stablecoins. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-09. The site went offline on 2026-10-14, its content is blocked by the provider, and it was still down when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Impersonation sites like this borrow a trusted crypto brand so visitors drop their guard. They then ask for whatever unlocks the victim's funds: a wallet connection and signature, a seed phrase, or account login details. Anything handed over this way can be used to empty the wallet or account, and on-chain transfers cannot be reversed. The page itself carried the title "onkeyon", which does not match the USDC branding in the domain, while our classification is impersonation phishing.

Evidence

Independent detection is thin. On 2026-10-13, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker was the only one of 92 VirusTotal engines that flagged the domain, so most scanners would not have warned a visitor. Among blocklists, it appears only on PhishDestroy's. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it, which shows other researchers were tracking it too. The fact that the provider took the content down within days of our listing gives additional support to the classification.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2025-12-29 through Gname.com Pte. Ltd., more than nine months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap fits a domain held in reserve and activated for a campaign later. The site ran behind Cloudflare, Inc., with its address geolocating to Canada. That edge location reflects Cloudflare's network, not where the operators are based.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to usdc016.com, review and revoke any token approvals or permissions you granted, and move remaining funds to a new wallet if you signed anything unfamiliar. If you typed in a seed phrase or private key, treat that wallet as fully compromised and transfer assets to a fresh one created on a clean device. If you entered an exchange or email login, change the password, turn on app-based 2FA, and check for unknown sessions or withdrawal addresses. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, look for past visits in logs, and keep watch for similarly numbered USDC lookalike domains.
