“Coming Soon”
On July 25, 2026, analysis of securehelp-coinbases.com confirms the site was used for brand impersonation targeting Coinbase users. The domain was registered on March 14, 2026 through Squarespace Domains II LLC and resolves to IP 198.49.23.145, which belongs to AS53831 Squarespace, Inc. in the United States. DNS resolution shows authoritative nameservers ns-cloud-d1.googledomains.com, ns-cloud-d2.googledomains.com, and ns-cloud-d3.googledo, and the MX record points to smtp.google.com with priority 1. The web server responded with HTTP 200 and presented a page titled “Coming Soon”, built on Squarespace Commerce and Squarespace platforms, and the site enforced HSTS.
SSL is provided by Let’s Encrypt (R13). VirusTotal scans returned five detections out of ninety‑four scanners, and the domain is listed on three security blocklists. Independent blocklists from PhishDestroy, MetaMask, and SEAL have already blocked the domain. The site is currently taken offline, but its recent activity and infrastructure indicate a typical crypto‑related brand impersonation campaign.
Defenders should continue to block the domain at network perimeter and email gateways, monitor for any residual phishing URLs that may reference the IP or the Squarespace hosting range, and consider adding the domain to internal blacklists. Further investigation should verify whether any credential‑ harvesting pages were ever hosted before takedown, and examine email traffic for attempts to use the smtp.google.com MX record for spoofed Coinbase communications. The presence of a legitimate‑looking SSL certificate and Squarespace hosting may reduce superficial suspicion, so security teams should rely on the observed indicators rather than trust signals alone.
