scanmylocker.com is an impersonation phishing site: it presents itself as a service the visitor already trusts, so that people act on it without checking who really runs it. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-10-06. As of 2026-10-19 the domain still resolves and its content is live, so it remains a working trap.
How the scam works
Impersonation pages copy the look, wording and flow of a familiar brand closely enough that a hurried visitor treats them as the real thing. Victims typically arrive through a link in a message, ad or search result, then are asked to sign in, verify an account or confirm details. Whatever they type goes straight to the operators, who can then take over the account or reuse the data. When we checked, the browser tab read only "Loading", a generic placeholder that does not name any brand, while our classification is impersonation phishing.
Evidence
Six of 92 VirusTotal engines flag the domain as of 2026-10-14: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and SOCRadar. That is a minority of engines, but six vendors reaching the same verdict independently is a meaningful signal for a site this young. Spamhaus lists it in its Domain Block List as spam, and it appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers have tied it to malicious activity. It is also on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-06-05 through Gname.com Pte. Ltd., about four months before we caught it. A domain that sits quietly that long before being noticed was either held in reserve or promoted narrowly enough to avoid early attention. It is hosted on UFO Technologies Limited's network in Great Britain and serves a free Let's Encrypt certificate. The padlock in the browser therefore only shows that the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about who operates the site.
What to do
If you entered a password on scanmylocker.com, change it right away on the genuine service and on any other account that shares it. Then turn on two-factor authentication and sign out of other active sessions. If you supplied personal or payment details, watch your statements, warn your bank, and treat any follow-up calls or emails that reference your visit as further phishing. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and web proxies, search mail and proxy logs for users who reached it since 2026-10-06, and reset credentials for anyone who did.
