It targets crypto traders and investors who trust that name. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-09-07, the same day it was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still live and redirecting visitors elsewhere.
How the scam works
Lookalike domains like this pair a real company's name with an extra word, here "trading," so the address reads like an official Payward trading portal. A copied corporate tagline makes it look credible, and visitors are then steered toward a login form, a sign-up flow or a deposit page. Anything typed in, whether exchange credentials, 2FA codes, identity documents or funds sent to a supposed trading account, goes to the operators. The redirect means the landing page can be swapped at any time, so it may show something different from one visit to the next.
Evidence
Seven of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-20: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That count is modest, but it comes from unrelated vendors that reached the same conclusion independently. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category, which mail and DNS filters widely enforce. Four AlienVault OTX community pulses also reference it, and it is on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-07 and detected the same day, so it was put to use almost immediately. A throwaway name used that quickly is typical of short-lived impersonation campaigns.
