PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

nexusexchangecore.com is an impersonation phishing site built around a fake crypto exchange identity. It targets people looking to trade or invest in cryptocurrency, and urlscan.io links its content to investment-scam patterns. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-06. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still alive and its content was reachable through a redirect.

How the scam works

Sites like this pose as a legitimate trading platform. They show fabricated balances and profits so that visitors deposit crypto, then demand fake taxes, verification charges or withdrawal fees before any payout is released, and no payout ever comes. Whatever a victim sends, plus any login details or ID documents they upload, should be treated as lost to the operators. The page currently shows the title "One moment, please...", which looks like a loading or interstitial screen rather than an exchange front, while our classification is impersonation phishing.

Evidence

Eight of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain in a check on 2026-10-10: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That detection rate is modest, but the vendors are independent of one another, and urlscan.io separately returned a malicious verdict tagged as an investment scam. Spamhaus lists the domain on its DBL as spam, and it appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses alongside the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-10-05 and appeared on our radar the next day. That one-day gap points to a domain spun up specifically for this campaign, not an established business. Registration is through Ultahost, Inc., and the site is hosted on Ultahost's network at 159.100.6.5, with the address geolocated to Germany. Its free automated certificate means the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the platform is legitimate.

What to do

Do not deposit funds or pay any fee the site requests to unlock a withdrawal, because that money will not come back. If you already sent crypto, record the transaction hashes, the amounts and any chats with "support" staff, and report them to your local police and to the exchange you sent from. If you reused your password on this site, change it everywhere and turn on two-factor authentication. If you uploaded ID documents, watch for identity misuse. Defenders should block the domain and its IP, and alert users who reached it through redirects or ads.
