PhishDestroy threat report
microsoft365updates.com is a phishing domain built to look like an official Microsoft 365 update channel. It targets people who use Microsoft work or personal accounts and are used to routine update and security notices. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-10-08. When last checked on 2026-10-19, the site was still alive and serving a redirect.
Schemes like this rely on the name alone. A link to a domain mentioning Microsoft 365 updates looks believable in an email or chat message urging the recipient to install an update, re-verify an account or fix a sign-in problem. The page currently titled "Redirecting" sends visitors onward rather than showing content itself, which is how such lures usually hand victims to a fake Microsoft sign-in form. Anyone who types their password there gives attackers access to their mailbox, files and anything else connected to that Microsoft account. The visible title shows only a redirect, while the domain is classified as Microsoft impersonation phishing.
On VirusTotal, 15 of 92 security engines flag the domain as of 2026-10-12. That is a minority, but it includes established names: alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CyRadar, DNS8, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data and Google Safe Browsing. Google Safe Browsing labels it SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, which means Chrome, Firefox and Safari users should see a warning page. The domain also appears on the PhishDestroy and Phishunt blocklists, and two AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it.
The domain was registered on 2026-03-17 through Cloudflare, Inc. This is roughly seven months before PhishDestroy first saw it, so it was either registered early and left dormant or ran quietly before being caught. It resolves to 188.114.96.1 on Cloudflare's network, geolocated to Canada. That address belongs to Cloudflare's proxy rather than the server actually hosting the content, so the true origin is not exposed.
If you entered a Microsoft password after following a link to this domain, change it immediately from Microsoft's own account page. Then sign out of all sessions and review recent sign-in activity. Turn on or re-enroll multi-factor authentication, check your mailbox for forwarding rules or inbox rules you did not create, and change the password anywhere else you reused it. Organizations should block the domain at the mail gateway, proxy and DNS layers, search logs for users who reached it, and force credential resets for anyone who did.
