PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

load-iron-17.pages.dev was a throwaway Cloudflare Pages subdomain that PhishDestroy classified as an impersonation phishing page. It presented a screen titled "Desktop Browser Required" and was built to pass itself off as a legitimate service to people who trust what they see. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-13. The site has been offline since 2026-09-20, the hosting provider has blocked its content, and it was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages copy the look and wording of a service the victim already uses. The goal is to get the victim to sign in, enter account details or hand over wallet secrets on the attacker's server instead of the real one. A "Desktop Browser Required" notice tells visitors to come back on a computer, which is where browser wallets and saved logins usually live. The page title itself shows only a device-requirement notice, while our classification is based on the site impersonating a trusted service. Victims of this kind of page typically lose account access, personal data or whatever funds the stolen credentials unlock.

Evidence

Independent detection was essentially absent while the page was live. VirusTotal checked it on 2026-09-19, and none of its 89 engines flagged it. At that point the only listing was PhishDestroy's own blocklist. A free subdomain like this can collect victims for days before mainstream filters react, so a clean VirusTotal result here should not be read as a sign the site was safe.

Infrastructure

The subdomain was created on 2026-09-13, the same day PhishDestroy detected it. That points to a page spun up and put to use immediately rather than one built up over time. It ran on Cloudflare Pages and resolved to Cloudflare, Inc. network space in Canada. A free, instantly deployable host lets an operator drop one subdomain and launch another within minutes. The page went dark seven days after creation.

What to do

If you typed a password into this page, change it on the real service and on any account that shares it. Then turn on app-based two-factor authentication and review recent logins and sessions. If you entered a recovery phrase or private key, treat that wallet as compromised and move the funds to a newly created wallet. Watch for follow-up messages that reuse the same branding or point to similarly named pages. Defenders should block the domain and consider extra scrutiny for freshly created free-hosting subdomains that open with a device-requirement screen.
