live-docs-ledger-start.pages.dev is a phishing page that impersonated Ledger, the hardware wallet maker. It was aimed at Ledger owners looking for setup or support documentation. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-08. The site has been offline since 2026-09-16 after the hosting provider blocked it, and it was still down on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
The subdomain mixes "docs", "ledger" and "start" to look like an official onboarding or help page for a new device. Fake Ledger pages of this kind usually walk visitors through a bogus setup, sync or recovery step that asks for the 24-word recovery phrase, or push a connection request to the visitor's wallet. Anyone who enters a recovery phrase hands over full control of every account derived from it, and the funds can be moved immediately with no way to reverse it. The page now shows the title "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is Cloudflare's warning screen rather than the original Ledger lure we classified.
Evidence
urlscan.io rated the page malicious and recognised Ledger branding on it. PhishDestroy, MetaMask and SEAL all list the domain on their blocklists, so three independent crypto-security sources reached the same conclusion. VirusTotal showed 0 detections across 89 engines on 2026-09-18. That check came after the page had already gone offline, so a clean result there does not mean the site is safe.
Infrastructure
The project was created on Cloudflare Pages on 2026-08-15, about three weeks before PhishDestroy detected it. It resolves to Cloudflare, Inc. network space, geolocated to CA. Free pages.dev subdomains are easy to create and throw away, which suits short-lived brand lures like this one.
What to do
If you typed your recovery phrase into this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new device or a freshly generated phrase, then move any remaining funds from the old accounts to it right away. If you connected a software wallet, review and revoke any token approvals you granted from that session. Ledger never asks for your recovery phrase on any website or in any app. Defenders should block the domain, check proxy and DNS logs for visits between 2026-09-08 and 2026-09-16, and warn users about lookalike pages.dev subdomains that use the Ledger name.
