The page carries the title "GFO-X" and wraps it in a generic "innovation" domain name meant to look like an official extension of the company. It targets crypto traders and wallet holders who assume they have reached the real platform. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-23, and it was still online with live content as of 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
Sites like this borrow a trusted trading brand's name and look to win the visitor's confidence, then push them toward an action that hands over value. Typical endings include a login form that harvests account credentials, a prompt to connect a crypto wallet and sign transactions, or an invitation to fund an account that does not really exist. Whatever the visitor enters or approves goes to the operators, not to GFO-X. Losses range from hijacked accounts to funds sent or drained with no way to recover them.
Evidence
On 2026-10-03, ten of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That count is modest, but these are separate vendors reaching the same verdict on their own. The wallet-security ecosystem has also acted: the domain appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy's. It is referenced in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers are tracking it too.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-23, the same day PhishDestroy detected it. That timing points to a site built and launched quickly for a short campaign. It is registered through Cloudflare, Inc. and served from Cloudflare's network, geolocated to Canada, which hides the true origin server. The free Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a padlock icon, which proves nothing about who runs the site.
