How the scam works

When crypto wallets are involved, the usual goal is a wallet connection or signature that hands control of funds to the operator. On 2026-09-03, 14 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the site. They include BitDefender, ESET, Kaspersky, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft and alphaMountain.ai. That is broad agreement among established vendors, not a single outlier. urlscan.io gave a malicious verdict and detected generic Cloudflare branding on the page. Beyond PhishDestroy, the wallet-focused MetaMask and SEAL blocklists also carry the domain.
Infrastructure
The Pages project dates to 2025-10-29, about ten months before PhishDestroy caught it. That gap suggests either a long dormant period or a slow build-up before the phishing content went live. The site was served through Cloudflare's network from a Canadian address, with a TLS certificate from Google Trust Services. A free pages.dev subdomain gives the operator a polished, HTTPS-secured address at no cost, and makes the site easy to abandon once it is blocked.
