PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

usdc083.com is an impersonation phishing site whose name trades on USDC, the widely held dollar stablecoin. It targets people who hold or want stablecoins and may trust a domain carrying a familiar token name. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-09. The site has been offline since 2026-10-14, its content is blocked at the provider level, and it was still down when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Pages like this pose as an official USDC portal, a reward claim or a token service, then push the visitor to connect a wallet, sign a transaction or type in a recovery phrase. A signed approval can let the operator move stablecoins and other tokens out of the wallet. A typed seed phrase hands over the whole wallet outright. The page title reads "onkeyon," which does not name USDC, while we classified the site as USDC impersonation based on its domain and behaviour.

Evidence

Independent detection is thin. On 2026-10-13, VirusTotal showed only 2 of 92 engines flagging the domain, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and LevelBlue, so most security tools would have let it load without a warning. PhishDestroy is the only blocklist listing it. The domain does appear in 3 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other analysts have tied it to malicious activity.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2025-12-29 through Gname.com Pte. Ltd., roughly nine months before it was detected. That gap suggests the name was held in reserve before being put to use, rather than launched the day it was registered. Traffic ran through Cloudflare, Inc. at 188.114.96.3, with the address geolocated to Canada. Because Cloudflare sits in front of the site, that address belongs to the proxy, not the real origin server.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to usdc083.com, use a token-approval checker to revoke any permissions you granted, and move your remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you entered a seed phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer everything you can to a new wallet created on a clean device. Only reach USDC services by typing the issuer's known address yourself, never through links in ads or messages. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level. Given how few engines detect it, also hunt for look-alike stablecoin domains registered through the same registrar.
