PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

trustencrypt.site is an impersonation phishing page that presented itself as "Trust Ecosystem Fund · Hold to Earn," a fake rewards program aimed at crypto wallet users. The domain and title borrow the "Trust" name to look like an official ecosystem initiative. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-17. The site went offline on 2026-09-18, and as of 2026-10-19 its DNS no longer resolves.

How the scam works

Hold-to-earn lures promise passive rewards just for keeping tokens in a wallet. To "enroll," the visitor is asked to connect a wallet, verify holdings, or claim a bonus. In schemes of this type, that step is where the theft happens. The victim either signs a token approval or permit that lets the attacker move funds, or is pushed to type a recovery phrase into the page. Either way, the reward never arrives and the wallet's assets can be emptied.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the page malicious and recognised generic crypto branding on it. The domain is listed on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, and it appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses. VirusTotal coverage was thin: only 2 of 89 engines, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and Kaspersky, flagged it on 2026-09-17. With so few engines flagging it, many security tools would have let the page load while it was live.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Cloudflare, Inc. on 2026-09-16, one day before we detected it, and it was dead roughly 48 hours after registration. That short lifespan is typical of disposable phishing domains that are rotated as soon as they get blocked. The site was hosted on Amazon.com, Inc. infrastructure in the US and used a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the browser padlock said nothing about the site's legitimacy.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to this site, use a token-approval checker to review and revoke any approvals or permits you granted around 2026-09-17. If you entered a recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet and move any remaining funds to it immediately. Be wary of anyone who later offers to "recover" your losses, because these offers are a common follow-up scam. Defenders should block the domain and watch for lookalike "Trust" hold-to-earn domains registered nearby, since operators of this kind usually reappear under new names quickly.
