PhishDestroy threat report
theodore3.com hosts a fake Microsoft sign-in page titled "Microsoft | Login", aimed at anyone with a Microsoft account, from personal Outlook users to staff on corporate Microsoft 365 tenants. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-27. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving the phishing content.
Victims usually reach a page like this through a link in an email or message that warns of an expiring password, a shared document or a blocked mailbox. The "Microsoft | Login" page copies the familiar sign-in screen and asks for an email address and password. Whatever is typed goes straight to the operators, who can then sign in to the real account, read mail, reset other services tied to that inbox and send further phishing from a trusted address.
On 2026-10-07, 16 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Abusix, alphaMountain.ai and CRDF. That is a minority of engines, but the flagging vendors include several major security companies, and their verdicts agree with each other. urlscan.io independently returned a malicious verdict and recognised Microsoft branding on the page. Among blocklists, it currently appears on PhishDestroy's.
The domain was registered on 2007-06-22 through TUCOWS.COM, CO., almost two decades before the phishing page appeared. That age matters because many filters treat freshly registered domains with suspicion but give long-standing ones more benefit of the doubt. The site resolves to 162.241.24.83 on Oracle Corporation's network in the US. It uses a Let's Encrypt certificate, so the browser padlock only shows that the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the site is genuine.
If you entered your password on this page, change it right away from the official Microsoft account or Microsoft 365 portal, along with the password of any other service where you reused it. Turn on or re-register two-factor authentication, then review recent sign-in activity. Remove any unfamiliar devices, app passwords, mail forwarding or inbox rules the attackers may have added. Security teams should block theodore3.com at the web proxy and DNS level, search mail logs for messages linking to it, and force credential resets and session revocation for any users who clicked through.
