PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ondo.finance.com.vc is an impersonation phishing page posing as Ondo. Its page title, "Ondo | Tokenized Stocks", mimics the brand's tokenized equities offering. It targets investors who expect to buy on-chain exposure to stocks through Ondo. PhishDestroy first saw the domain on 2026-09-29, and it was still online serving live content on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The address is built to fool a quick glance. "ondo.finance" is only the leftmost part of a name registered under com.vc, so the site has nothing to do with Ondo. Visitors arriving from ads, social posts or direct messages see a copy of a tokenized stocks platform and are prompted to connect a wallet or sign in. Pages of this kind usually push victims to approve token permissions, sign transactions or hand over recovery phrases or account credentials. Any of these can let the operators move the victim's funds.

Evidence

On 2026-10-03, six of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: BitDefender, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, SOCRadar and URLQuery. Coverage is thin, so many security products may still let the page load. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified Ondo as the imitated brand. The domain is listed on the PhishDestroy and ScamSniffer blocklists.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-11 through GNAME.COM PTE. LTD. PhishDestroy detected it 18 days later, which fits a site that was prepared and then launched quickly. It is hosted at 186.2.175.25 on the IQWeb FZ-LLC network, geolocated to Belize. The Let's Encrypt certificate only encrypts the connection, so the browser padlock says nothing about whether the site is genuine.

What to do

If you connected a wallet here, revoke any approvals granted around the time of your visit using a token-approval checker. Then move remaining assets to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not fully understand. If you typed a recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and empty it into a new one immediately. If you entered a password, change it wherever you reuse it and turn on app-based two-factor authentication. Reach Ondo only through addresses you have verified yourself. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP and watch for other com.vc names that copy the ondo.finance pattern.
