PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

kast.penseopen.com is an impersonation phishing page that uses the KAST name as its page title. It targets people who use or are looking for the KAST stablecoin card and payments service. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-10-07. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

The page presents itself as KAST so visitors believe they are on the real service. Impersonation pages of this kind then push one of three actions: signing in with real account credentials, typing a wallet recovery phrase to "restore" or "verify" an account, or connecting a wallet and approving a transaction. Any of these hands the operator control. Stolen logins open the victim's account, a recovery phrase empties every asset in that wallet, and a signed approval lets funds be drained without further prompts. The brand name sits in the subdomain, so a hurried visitor sees "kast" and trusts it, even though the parent domain has no connection to KAST.

Evidence

On 2026-10-12, 6 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the site: ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a small share of engines, but ChainPatrol specialises in crypto threats, and independent web-security vendors agreed with it. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy. Both of those lists focus on wallet-targeting fraud, so wallet users get warnings from several separate sources.

Infrastructure

The parent domain penseopen.com was registered on 2021-06-09 through HOSTINGER operations, UAB, more than five years before this page was detected. The KAST lure therefore sits on an older domain rather than a freshly registered one, which can help it get past filters that look at domain age. The site is hosted on Hostinger International Limited's network (AS47583) in Lithuania.

What to do

If you entered your KAST login here, change your password from the official app right away, turn on or reset two-factor authentication, and review recent activity and card transactions. If you typed a recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and move your funds to a new wallet with a fresh phrase. If you connected a wallet and signed anything, revoke the approvals you granted with a token-approval checker. Contact KAST support through its official channels only. Security teams should block the domain and its parent, penseopen.com, and alert users that KAST branding on an unrelated domain is a phishing lure.
