PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

amberpulse.shop is a fake online shop that presents itself as BrewDog. Its page title reads "Craft Beer Bars & Online Craft Beer Shop | BrewDog", so it targets craft beer fans who think they are buying from the brewer's official store. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-10-01. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its shop content.

How the scam works

Shops like this copy a known brand's look and product range and often add tempting prices to push quick checkouts. The victim picks beer or merchandise, enters a delivery address and pays by card or another method. The order never arrives, or something worthless shows up instead. The buyer loses the money paid and also gives a scam operation their name, address, phone number and payment details, which can be reused for fraud or targeted phishing.

Evidence

On 2026-10-03, ten of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. The vendors included alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, ESET, G-Data, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and Netcraft. That is a minority of engines, but the flagging vendors are well-established reputation and anti-fraud services. urlscan.io rated the site malicious and specifically identified it as a fake shop, which matches our classification. The domain also appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses and is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-05-15, about four and a half months before we detected it. That gap suggests it was bought in advance and left idle before the shop went live. The site is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in Georgia (GE). Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a padlock in the browser, but that only means the connection is encrypted, not that the seller is legitimate.

What to do

If you ordered from amberpulse.shop, contact your bank or card issuer now, report the charge as fraud and request a chargeback. Ask for a replacement card if you entered card details. Expect follow-up emails, texts or calls about "delivery problems" or refunds, and do not pay any extra fees or share further details. If you created an account with a password you use elsewhere, change it on those other services. To buy BrewDog products, go to the brand's official site directly instead of following ads or search results. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP at the DNS and proxy level and flag lookalike shop domains that use BrewDog branding.
