PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

usdc088.com is on the PhishDestroy blocklist, and its name borrows the ticker of the USDC stablecoin. That choice of name puts holders of stablecoins and crypto wallets squarely in its sights. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-09. The site has been offline since 2026-10-14, with the hosting provider blocking its content, and it was still down at the last check on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page title, "onkeyon", does not mention USDC, while the domain name is built around the stablecoin's ticker. We list the domain as suspicious rather than as a confirmed scheme type. A USDC-branded domain with a number tacked on is a common pattern for sites that try to look like a stablecoin service. Such sites typically ask visitors to deposit funds, connect a wallet or hand over login details. The risk is losing whatever is sent, signed or entered there.

Evidence

Independent detection is thin. On 2026-10-13, VirusTotal showed only 2 of 92 engines flagging the domain, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and LevelBlue. PhishDestroy is the only blocklist carrying it. The domain does appear in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tied it to malicious activity. The provider-level block that took the content offline is further independent action against it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2025-10-25 through Gname.com Pte. Ltd., almost a year before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests it was either held in reserve or ran unnoticed for months. Traffic was fronted by Cloudflare, with the serving address placed in Canada. This setup hides the true origin server from outside view.

What to do

If you sent USDC or any other funds to this site, stop all further transfers. Ignore any later demand for "fees" to recover the money. If you connected a wallet or signed a transaction there, use a token-approval checker to review and revoke permissions granted around that time. Move remaining assets to a fresh wallet if you shared a seed phrase. If you entered a password, change it everywhere it was reused and turn on two-factor authentication. Defenders should block the domain and look for similar USDC-numbered lookalikes, even though the site is currently offline.
