PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

tronscan-explore.com is a phishing page impersonating TRON. Its name is built to pass for Tronscan, the network's block explorer, which TRX holders use to check transactions and balances. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-10-04, and it was still online with live content when last checked on 2026-10-19. The page title reads "Tron Electric - when emotion matters," which does not match a blockchain explorer, while we classify the site as TRON impersonation.

How the scam works

Fake explorers target people who are already handling a transaction, such as checking a transfer or troubleshooting stuck funds. That makes a prompt to "connect" or "verify" a wallet feel routine. Pages of this type then ask visitors to sign a transaction, grant a token permission, or type in a recovery phrase. Any of these can let the operator move TRX and TRON-based tokens out of the wallet, and those transfers cannot be reversed.

Evidence

Ten of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-06. They include BitDefender, Kaspersky, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai, a spread of independent vendors rather than a single outlier. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing. The MetaMask and SEAL blocklists carry it alongside PhishDestroy, so many wallet users already get a warning. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-30 through Hosting Concepts B.V. (Registrar.eu), only four days before we detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains put to use right after purchase. The site sits behind Cloudflare (AS13335) on a US-located address, so the real origin server is hidden. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, and the padlock it shows says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you connected a wallet or signed anything on this site, use a TRON-compatible approval checker to review and revoke token permissions you don't recognize. Then move your remaining funds to a new wallet. If you entered a recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and move assets immediately from a clean device. To look up transactions, open Tronscan only from a saved bookmark you created yourself, not from search ads or links. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and report it to Cloudflare and the registrar.
