PhishDestroy threat report
omni.variatiomnal.io is an impersonation phishing page that presented itself under the title "Service Status". urlscan.io matched its look to a generic Cloudflare interface. The aim is to borrow the trust people place in familiar infrastructure screens. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-13. The site has been offline since 2026-09-16, its content blocked by the provider, and it was still down when last checked on 2026-10-19.
Fake status and verification pages work because visitors expect them. A screen that looks like a routine Cloudflare check or service notice rarely raises suspicion. Pages like this typically ask the visitor to log in, re-enter account details, or follow "verification" steps to continue. Some versions tell victims to paste and run a copied command, which installs malware. Whatever the victim types or runs goes straight to the operators, who can use it to take over accounts or the device.
Five of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-14: ChainPatrol, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That count is modest, but the vendors are independent of one another. ChainPatrol's listing points to a crypto-focused audience. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict, and Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category. It also appears on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
The domain was registered on 2026-08-11 through GNAME.COM PTE. LTD. It was flagged just two days later, so it was a fresh, short-lived domain spun up for the campaign. The site sat behind Cloudflare's network on an address geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server. Its TLS certificate came from Google Trust Services (WE1), so the padlock in the browser said nothing about whether the page was legitimate.
If you entered a password or login details on this page, change that password immediately, along with any other account that reuses it. Turn on app-based two-factor authentication and review recent sign-ins and active sessions. If the page told you to copy and run a command, disconnect the machine and run a full malware scan. Then change your passwords from a separate, clean device. Defenders should block the domain and the wider variatiomnal.io zone at DNS and proxy level. They should also check logs for visits around 2026-08-13 to 2026-09-16 and remind users that genuine Cloudflare checks never ask for credentials or pasted commands.
