PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

helixtrustchain.com presents itself as "HELIX TRUST CHAIN," a CFD trading platform offering positions on stocks, gold, oil and indices. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page aimed at retail investors who are looking for a broker or have been steered to one through social media or messaging contacts. We first flagged the domain on 2026-09-29. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its trading content.

How the scam works

Fake brokers like this one copy the look and vocabulary of a regulated trading firm: account dashboards, live-looking charts and promises of leveraged returns on commodities and indices. Victims are encouraged to register, hand over personal and identity details, and fund an account, often in crypto. The balance shown on screen is controlled by the operators and usually appears to grow quickly, which draws larger deposits. When the victim tries to withdraw, new "taxes," "verification" or "release" fees appear, and the deposited money is not returned.

Evidence

On 2026-10-01, 10 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. The vendors that flagged it include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and CyRadar. That is a minority of engines, but it spans several unrelated security companies. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and matched the page to its generic scam pattern. The domain also appears in 6 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tracked it independently.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2025-12-12 through TuringSign Inc. d/b/a Cosmotown, roughly nine and a half months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests the domain was either kept in reserve or ran for a while before drawing attention. The site is hosted in the US on the FranTech Solutions network. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about whether the broker is genuine.

What to do

Do not deposit any more money, and do not pay any fee the site demands to unlock a withdrawal, because that payment is part of the scam. If you sent funds, keep transaction IDs, chat logs and screenshots, and report them to your bank or card issuer, the exchange you sent crypto from, and your national fraud authority. If you uploaded ID documents, watch for identity misuse and change any password you reused on the site. Be wary of anyone who later offers to recover your losses for an upfront payment. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP and check logs for users who have visited it.
