PhishDestroy threat report
fbads24.com was a phishing page that impersonated Facebook and served the plain page title "Facebook" to pass as the real login screen. The "fbads" name points at people who run Facebook advertising, whose accounts are valuable because they hold payment methods and ad budgets. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-11. The site has been offline since 2026-09-17, and on 2026-10-19 the domain showed no threatening content.
Scams like this usually start with a message about a policy violation, a suspended ad account or a pending review, and a link that leads to a page styled as Facebook. The victim enters an email or phone number and password, and often a two-factor code, on a form controlled by the attacker. With those details the attacker can take over the profile and any linked Business Manager or ad accounts. They then run fraudulent ads on the victim's payment card or lock the owner out and resell the account.
14 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-09-11, including alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Ermes, ESET, Emsisoft, Fortinet, G-Data and Gridinsoft. That spread across many independent vendors on the same day PhishDestroy caught it shows the page was recognized quickly. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified Facebook branding on the page. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing, and it is on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
The domain was registered through Name.com, Inc. on 2026-09-09, only two days before detection, which fits a throwaway domain set up for a short campaign. It resolved to an address on the TF Tianfeng (Hong Kong) Communications Limited network, geolocated in the United States. A free Let's Encrypt certificate gave it the browser padlock, which says nothing about whether a site is genuine. The site went dark about a week after it appeared.
If you typed your Facebook password on this site, change it now from the official app or site, and change it anywhere else you reused it. Turn on app-based two-factor authentication, review active sessions and log out unknown devices. Check Business Manager for new admins, unfamiliar ad accounts or changed payment methods. Then check your card statements for ad charges you did not make and dispute them with your bank. Defenders should block the domain, search mail and proxy logs for earlier visits, and remind staff who manage ad accounts that Facebook does not ask for logins through outside domains.
