PhishDestroy threat report
capitalworldtrade-cwt.com is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as an investment broker under the name "Capitalworldtrade-cwt | LEGIT STOCK, FOREX, BINARY". It targets people looking for trading or crypto investment opportunities, especially wallet users. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-25. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.
The page title insists the platform is "LEGIT" and promises stock, forex and binary options trading in one place. That bundle of high-return products, paired with an unprompted claim of legitimacy, is a hallmark of fake brokerages. Schemes like this usually ask visitors to register and fund an account, often in crypto. They then show fabricated profits on a dashboard to encourage larger deposits. When the victim tries to withdraw, new "taxes", "verification" or "withdrawal fees" appear, and the deposited funds are lost.
On 2026-10-03, 14 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft and Kaspersky. That is broad agreement across unrelated vendors. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as a phishing domain. Beyond PhishDestroy, it also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, so many wallet users will see a warning before the page loads.
The domain was registered on 2026-08-26 through TuringSign Inc. d/b/a Cosmotown, only 30 days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short lifespan is typical of throwaway scam brands launched quickly and abandoned once exposed. The site is hosted on FranTech Solutions in Luxembourg. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the operator is trustworthy.
Do not deposit anything further, and ignore any demand for fees, taxes or "unlock" payments to release a balance. Those payments only add to the loss. If you sent funds, save transaction hashes, chat logs and payment receipts, and report them to your exchange, your bank and local police. Be wary of "recovery services" that contact you afterward. If you reused a password on this site, change it elsewhere and turn on two-factor authentication. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for lookalike variants of the Capitalworldtrade name.
