PhishDestroy threat report
bookkeeping-meow.co presented itself as Meow, the business banking platform, under the page title "Business banking | Meow". The "bookkeeping" prefix targets founders, accountants and finance teams who expect a back-office or accounting portal tied to their company account. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-11. The site has been offline since 2026-10-15 and no longer served threatening content when last checked on 2026-10-19.
Business-banking impersonation copies the real login and onboarding experience so the victim signs in without hesitation. Whatever they type is captured: email, password, one-time codes, and sometimes company or identity details. With those, an attacker can try to take over the real account, add payees, move treasury funds, or use the stolen identity in follow-up fraud against the same team.
Seven of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-09-21: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That is a modest count, but it comes from several unrelated vendors. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing, and MetaMask and SEAL carry it on their blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, which means wallet and crypto-security communities also treat it as hostile. Four AlienVault OTX pulses reference the domain as well.
The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2025-09-23, nearly a year before PhishDestroy detected it. A long gap like that suggests the name was held in reserve or used quietly before the campaign surfaced. The site was hosted on Amazon's AMAZON-02 network in the United States, a common choice for short-lived phishing deployments that can be spun up and torn down quickly.
If you entered Meow credentials on this site, change your password right away through Meow's official site or app. Reset two-factor authentication, end all active sessions, and review recent payees, transfers and user permissions on the account. Tell Meow support and your finance team, and treat any follow-up messages that reference your account as suspect. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and the mail gateway, search logs for visits since 2026-09-11, and warn staff who handle company banking about lookalike domains that add words like "bookkeeping" to the brand name.
