root-binance.com.cn is a phishing page impersonating Binance, the cryptocurrency exchange. It presents itself under the title "币安 - Binance", which points to Chinese-speaking Binance customers as the main target. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-10-15, one day after the domain was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still marked alive, although its DNS was no longer resolving page content, so it could come back online at any moment.
How the scam works
Impersonation pages like this copy the look and wording of the real Binance site, and the bilingual title "币安 - Binance" makes the fake feel familiar to local users. The ".com.cn" ending and the "root-" prefix are meant to pass a quick glance as an official regional Binance address. Victims are usually led to a fake login form where they enter their email, password and two-factor codes. Those credentials go straight to the operators, who can then sign in to the real account, change security settings and withdraw funds before the owner notices.
Evidence
On 2026-10-19, VirusTotal showed 8 of 92 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar, VIPRE and Webroot. That is a modest share, typical for a domain only days old, and most engines had not yet caught up. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified Binance as the impersonated brand. The domain is listed on the PhishDestroy, MetaMask and SEAL blocklists and appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

The domain was registered on 2026-10-14 through 北京新网数码信息技术有限公司. It is hosted at 168.222.65.180 on the network of OWGELS INTERNATIONAL CO., LIMITED in Hong Kong. Its TLS certificate was issued by TrustAsia Technologies, Inc. under LiteSSL RSA CA 2025, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
What to do
If you entered your Binance login on this site, change your password immediately from the official Binance app or a bookmarked address, then reset your two-factor authentication and remove any API keys you do not recognise. Check your account activity, withdrawal whitelist and connected devices, and contact Binance support if you see unfamiliar logins or withdrawals.
