Overview

netflixcredit.sweepstakealert.info is a credential phishing page that uses Netflix's name to lure viewers with a fake prize. It targets Netflix subscribers and anyone tempted by a free gift card. PhishDestroy first saw the site on 2026-10-17. As of 2026-10-19 it was still online and serving its phishing content.

How the scam works

The page is titled "Win $1000 Netflix Gift Card: Enter Now!", a sweepstakes lure meant to make visitors act fast. Pages like this typically ask the visitor to sign in with their Netflix account or fill in personal details to claim the prize. Whatever is typed in goes straight to the operators. Victims can lose control of their streaming account. They may also lose any reused passwords and payment or personal details they submitted, which can then be used for account takeover, resale or further fraud. No gift card is ever delivered.

Evidence

Independent detection is still thin. On 2026-10-17, VirusTotal showed 1 of 92 engines flagging the domain, with BitDefender the only vendor marking it malicious. The site is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist. A low vendor count is common for fresh phishing pages and does not mean the site is safe. The impersonation of Netflix and the prize-claim lure match a credential phishing pattern.

Infrastructure

The parent domain was registered on 2025-02-06 through IONOS SE. The site resolves to 3.136.232.26 on the AMAZON-02 network operated by Amazon.com, Inc., hosted in the US. Its TLS certificate was issued by Let's Encrypt (YE1). The padlock only means the connection is encrypted, not that the site is legitimate.

What to do

Do not enter any login or personal details on this site. If you already signed in there, change your Netflix password right away from the official app or by typing the address yourself, then sign out of all devices from the account settings. Change the same password anywhere else you reused it, and turn on two-step verification where it is offered. If you entered card or banking details, contact your bank to block the card and watch your statements. Security teams should block the domain and its parent sweepstakealert.info at DNS, proxy and mail gateways, and report it to the hosting provider and to Netflix's abuse channels.
