PhishDestroy threat report
musor-drop.com posed as MUSOR DROP (Мусор Дроп), a CS2 case-opening and skins site, under the page title "MUSOR DROP (Мусор Дроп) — кейсы CS2 и скины". Its Russian-language branding targets Counter-Strike 2 players hoping to win or trade skins. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-25. The site has been offline since 2026-09-09, and its DNS was still inactive when we last checked on 2026-10-19.
Lookalike case-opening sites use the appeal of free cases, bonus drops and cheap skins to get visitors to sign in. That sign-in is the trap. A fake "Login with Steam" window or a direct request for Steam credentials and Steam Guard codes hands the account to the operators. They can then trade away the victim's inventory, use the account for further scams, or take any balance the victim was persuaded to deposit to open cases. The loss is the Steam account itself, its skins, and any money paid in.
Detection was limited. On 2026-09-10, VirusTotal showed 4 of 89 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and SOCRadar. Most engines missed a site that only lived for about two weeks. AlienVault OTX lists it in 3 threat pulses, so other researchers tracked it independently. PhishDestroy carries it on its blocklist.
The domain was registered through Gransy, s.r.o. on 2026-08-24, one day before PhishDestroy caught it. That is the usual pattern for throwaway phishing domains, which are set up and put into use within hours. It was hosted on the GLOBAL CONNECTIVITY SOLUTIONS LLP network in Germany at 62.133.60.201. It went dark on 2026-09-09, giving it a working life of roughly two weeks.
If you signed in on this site, change your Steam password at once from the official Steam client. Use Steam Guard to deauthorize all other devices. Check whether a Steam Web API key was registered on your account and revoke any you did not create, since attackers use these to hijack trade offers. Review your trade history and pending offers, and contact Steam Support about any items that were stolen. If you paid money into the site, ask your card issuer or payment provider about a chargeback. Defenders should block the domain and the hosting IP. They should also watch for new MUSOR DROP lookalikes, because these campaigns usually come back on fresh domains.
