This site is a fraudulent page impersonating Ledger, the hardware wallet manufacturer, styled to mimic the legitimate Ledger.com onboarding flow. It targets hardware wallet owners who are searching for setup guidance and may land here expecting official support. PhishDestroy first identified it on 2026-10-14, and as of 2026-10-18 the site remains fully live with active content.

How the scam works

The page title 'Ledger.com/Start – Secure Ledger Wallet Setup' is designed to convince visitors they have reached Ledger's official getting-started guide. At some point in the fake setup flow, users are prompted to enter their 24-word seed phrase, supposedly to restore or verify their device. Submitting that phrase hands the attacker complete, irrevocable control of every wallet and asset protected by it — no further interaction from the victim is needed.

Evidence

VirusTotal flagged this domain as malicious across 13 of 92 security engines on 2026-10-14; vendors confirming the threat include ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, Ermes, CyRadar, and alphaMountain.ai. urlscan.io independently returned a malicious verdict and attributed the page to the Ledger brand. The domain appears on four blocklists: PhishDestroy, MetaMask, SEAL, and PhishFeed, reflecting broad cross-industry consensus.
