PhishDestroy threat report
binance-zo.com posed as the official Binance website and targeted Chinese-speaking crypto traders. Its page title translates roughly to "Binance Official Site – the world's leading cryptocurrency exchange | Binance – secure trading, opening a new era of digital assets." PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-09-05. The site has been offline since 2026-09-20 and was still unreachable when last checked on 2026-10-19.
Lookalike exchange domains like this copy Binance's branding and wording so the visitor believes they are on the real platform. In this kind of scheme the victim is asked to log in, which hands their email, password and often a 2FA code to the operators. Those credentials are then used to empty the real account. Some variants also show a fake balance and ask for deposits or "verification" payments. Either way the victim loses account access, funds, or both, and crypto transfers cannot be reversed.
Our classification is backed by outside vendors. On 2026-09-11, 14 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including Google Safe Browsing, ESET, BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai and CyRadar. Google Safe Browsing listed it as SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, which is its category for deceptive phishing pages. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other researchers were tracking it too.
The domain was registered on 2026-05-11 through Fewmoretaps OU, doing business as Trustname.com. It sat for almost four months before PhishDestroy detected it, which suggests it was registered in advance and activated later. The site was served through Cloudflare, so the visible address belonged to Cloudflare's network rather than the operators' real server. Cloudflare geolocated that address to Canada. The free Let's Encrypt certificate gave the page a padlock, and that padlock says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
If you entered Binance login details on this site, change your Binance password at once from the official app. Reset your 2FA and review active sessions, API keys and the withdrawal address whitelist for anything you did not add. If you reused that password anywhere else, change it there too. If you sent any crypto as a deposit or fee, do not pay any further amounts that are demanded to "unlock" funds. Report the transfer to Binance support and your local police. Security teams should block the domain, look in proxy and DNS logs for users who reached it, and treat similar Binance lookalike domains as phishing.
