PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

appleinc-support.info is an impersonation phishing site that borrows the Apple name to look like an official support portal. It targets Apple customers who may expect help with their account, devices or billing. PhishDestroy first saw the domain on 2026-10-16. As of 2026-10-19 the site was online and serving live content.

How the scam works

Brand-support phishing usually reaches victims through texts, emails or search ads warning of a locked account, a suspicious purchase or an expiring subscription. The link leads to a page dressed in Apple branding that asks for an Apple ID and password, verification codes, payment card details or other personal information, which the operators then use to take over the account or commit fraud. The page title currently reads "404 Not Found", while our classification is Apple impersonation phishing.

Evidence

Google Safe Browsing flags the domain as SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, its category for deceptive phishing content. On VirusTotal, 3 of 92 engines detected it as of 2026-10-16: alphaMountain.ai, DNS8 and SOCRadar. That detection rate is low, so many security products may still let the site load. Besides PhishDestroy, the domain appears on the Phishunt blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-08-08 through Sav.com, LLC, about two months before PhishDestroy first saw it. It resolves to 188.114.97.1 on the Cloudflare, Inc. network, with the country listed as CA. Its TLS certificate was issued by Google Trust Services (WE1), so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you visited the site but entered nothing, close it and do not follow any link that brought you there. If you typed in your Apple ID or password, change the password immediately through Apple's official settings or app, review your trusted devices and sign out sessions you don't recognize. If you entered card details, contact your bank to block the card and dispute any unfamiliar charges. Watch for follow-up messages that claim to be from Apple and ask you to verify again. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and the web proxy, search mail and SMS logs for links to it, and report it to Apple and to the hosting provider so the content can be taken down.
