When unwary users enter their 24-word recovery phrase on this counterfeit site, attackers immediately gain full control of their digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies. The page uses HTTPS via a Let’s Encrypt certificate to appear legitimate, but the domain name deliberately mimics the brand name “Ledger” with a misleading suffix “-errstart,” hoping victims won’t notice the typo. All traffic is ultimately routed through IP 34.144.206.118, a Google Cloud address hosting multiple fraudulent services. This domain was flagged by PhishDestroy on May 15, 2025. PhishingArmy already lists it in their public blocklist, and VirusTotal shows a 4.2 % detection rate with 4 out of 95 scanners flagging the page. The site launched on April 28, 2025 and is currently registered through Wix.com via their Wix Studio plan, allowing rapid deployment under a seemingly legitimate hosting provider. Such short-lived domains are typical of credential-harvesting campaigns aimed at stealing seed phrases from cryptocurrency holders.
