# BIMI BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) lets a domain with an enforcing DMARC policy publish a logo that supporting mail clients show next to authenticated messages. ## How it works The record at default._bimi.domain points to an SVG logo and, for most providers, a Verified Mark Certificate proving the trademark. BIMI rewards strict email authentication; it does not by itself block phishing. ## How to protect yourself - Treat the logo as a sign of authenticated mail from that exact domain, not as proof the content is safe. - Deploy DMARC enforcement before considering BIMI. ## Related tools - [Email Authentication Checker](https://phishdestroy.io/developer-tools/email-auth-checker) ## Related terms - [DMARC](https://phishdestroy.io/glossary/dmarc/) ## Further reading - [Why Email-Only Abuse Reports](https://phishdestroy.io/why-email) ## Glossary - [All terms](https://phishdestroy.io/glossary/) Canonical: https://phishdestroy.io/glossary/bimi/
