## Stored PhishDestroy analysis

Overview
pendle-ecosystem.icu is an impersonation phishing page that posed as Pendle, the DeFi protocol for trading and fixing yield. It carried Pendle's own tagline, "Pendle - Liberating Yield," as its page title, and the "ecosystem" wording in the domain was meant to pass as an official extension of the project. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-29. The site has been offline since 2026-09-30, and it was still dead with no active DNS when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works
Pages like this copy the look of a real DeFi front end so that Pendle users arriving from ads, fake announcements or social replies believe they are on the genuine app. The visitor is asked to connect a wallet and then approve a transaction or sign a message presented as a routine deposit, claim or yield action. That signature can hand the operator permission to move tokens, so the victim loses whatever assets the approval covers, often without noticing until the balance is gone. The familiar tagline in the browser tab is a key part of the deception.

Evidence
Automated scanners were slow to catch this one. On 2026-09-29, only alphaMountain.ai flagged it among 91 VirusTotal engines, so a clean-looking scan result would not have protected anyone. Wallet-side defenses carried more weight here. The domain is listed by MetaMask and SEAL alongside PhishDestroy, which means many users would see a warning before they could connect.

Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-27 through Eranet International Limited and was detected two days later. It went dark within roughly a day of detection. That short lifespan is typical of disposable phishing domains, which are used briefly and abandoned once they are blocked. Traffic ran through Cloudflare, Inc. infrastructure geolocated to Canada, so the operator's actual origin server was not exposed.

What to do
If you connected a wallet to this site, use a token-approval checker to revoke any permissions granted around 2026-09-29 to 2026-09-30. If you signed transactions you did not fully understand, move your remaining funds to a fresh wallet. Never type a seed phrase into any site, and treat a phrase you entered here as compromised. Reach Pendle only through bookmarks or links verified on its official channels. Defenders should block the domain, hunt for lookalike "pendle-" registrations on low-cost TLDs, and push wallet-warning lists to users, since VirusTotal coverage alone missed this page almost entirely.
