## Stored PhishDestroy analysis

Overview
kraken-zerkalo-darknet.ru is an impersonation phishing page that uses the Kraken name. It targets Russian-speaking users searching for a working Kraken "zerkalo" (mirror). PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-25. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works
The page title, "Официальное зеркало Kraken Onion через Tor. Безопасный вход.", means "Official Kraken Onion mirror via Tor. Secure login." That pitch is aimed at people who cannot reach an onion address directly and look for a clearnet shortcut through a search engine. Fake mirrors of this kind copy the look of the real login screen and capture whatever is typed in. With those usernames and passwords, the operators can take over the account and drain any crypto balance held there. Some copies also show their own deposit addresses, so any payment sent goes straight to the scammers.

Evidence
Detection elsewhere is still thin. On 2026-10-07, 6 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it, which means other researchers are tracking the same activity. Among blocklists it is currently listed only by PhishDestroy, so many browsers and filters will not yet warn visitors.

Infrastructure
The domain was registered through RU-CENTER on 2026-04-12, about five and a half months before PhishDestroy detected it. That long gap suggests it had time to gather search traffic before anyone flagged it. It resolves to Cloudflare, Inc. address space geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server behind the proxy. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives the page a browser padlock, but that only confirms an encrypted connection, not a legitimate operator.

What to do
If you entered credentials on this page, change the password on the genuine service right away. Do the same anywhere you reused that password, and turn on two-factor authentication where it is offered. Check the account for unfamiliar logins, changed withdrawal settings or missing balance. Do not send any deposit to addresses shown on this site. Only use mirror links from a source you already trust, never one found through search results. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for lookalike "zerkalo" domains using the Kraken name. Abuse reports can go to Cloudflare and RU-CENTER.
