## Stored PhishDestroy analysis

Overview
exodusacademy.nl presents itself as "Exodus Academy", borrowing the name of the Exodus crypto wallet to look like an official learning or support hub. It targets Exodus users who expect tutorials, onboarding help or account assistance from the wallet's makers. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-28. When checked on 2026-10-19 the site was still alive and its content was reachable through a redirect.

How the scam works
Sites like this rely on the credibility of an "academy" or help-center label. Visitors are steered toward a step that seems routine, such as verifying, restoring or syncing a wallet, and asked to enter their recovery phrase or connect their wallet. Whoever has a self-custodial wallet's recovery phrase controls the funds. Anything typed into a page like this should be treated as compromised, and assets can be moved out with no way to reverse the transfers.

Evidence
Five of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-12: ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a small share overall, but ChainPatrol is a crypto-focused detector, which makes its flag especially relevant here. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy's, so wallet-security teams have confirmed the finding independently. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it as well.

Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2020-07-29, about six years before PhishDestroy detected the phishing content. An older registration can help a site avoid filters that distrust newly created domains. Registration goes through Combell B.V., and the site is hosted on Combell NV's network in Belgium at 37.72.160.14.

What to do
If you entered an Exodus recovery phrase on this site, assume the wallet is compromised. Create a new wallet with a fresh phrase on a device you trust and move any remaining funds there right away. If you connected a wallet, review and revoke any token approvals you did not intend to grant. Real Exodus support will never ask for your recovery phrase, so treat any "academy" or help page that requests it as hostile. Defenders should block the domain and its IP at DNS and proxy level and report it to Combell for takedown.
