PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-08-31. As of 2026-10-19 the domain still resolves, but its phishing content no longer loads. A domain that stays online with its page down can be refilled with content at any time, so it should still be treated as dangerous. How the scam works Exodus is a self-custody wallet, which means whoever holds the recovery phrase controls the funds. Pages like this copy the look of an Exodus download, support or wallet-restore screen, then ask the visitor to type in the 12-word secret phrase or private keys, often framed as a sync, verification or recovery step. Once the phrase is submitted, the operators can rebuild the wallet on their own device and empty it. Those transfers cannot be reversed. The brand name at the front of the address is the hook, and it reads as an official Exodus page at a glance. Evidence Six of 92 VirusTotal engines flag the domain as of 2026-10-15: ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That count is modest, but several of these vendors focus on crypto and web threats, and they agree with the classification. The domain is also listed by MetaMask and SEAL alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet users with those protections are warned before the page opens. Spamhaus DBL lists it as a spam domain. Infrastructure The domain was registered on 2026-05-11 through SCPT, about 112 days before PhishDestroy flagged it. Phishing domains are often registered in advance and held until a campaign starts. The site is hosted on the Scloud Pte Ltd network, with the server located in the United Arab Emirates. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives the browser padlock, which shows only that the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the site is genuine. What to do If you entered your Exodus recovery phrase here, treat that wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet on a trusted device and move any remaining funds to it immediately. Never reuse the exposed phrase, and keep in mind that real Exodus support will never ask for it. If you connected a wallet to the page, revoke any approvals you granted. If you only visited, close the page without entering anything. Security teams should block exodus.bot.cd at DNS and proxy level and watch for other domains that pair the Exodus name with unrelated hostnames.
