How the scam works Fake bridges work because bridging naturally asks users to connect a wallet and sign transactions, so a malicious request looks routine. Pages like this copy the branding and interoperability pitch of a real bridge, then prompt the visitor to connect a wallet. The visitor is then asked to approve token spending or sign a transfer that hands assets to the operator instead of moving them cross-chain.
